PIPE BURSTING

Pipe bursting is the process of installing a new pipe by pulling a series of cones through the existing to break the old pipe.  A new pipe is pulled behind the cones.  The new pipe follows the path of the existing sewer.  This process is great for saving retaining walls, driveways or other obstacles that would normally be disturbed by traditional dig and replace methods for repairing your sewer.

THE PROCESS

Pipe Bursting requires two access points.  One access point is where the bursting cones and new pipe will enter.  The second access point is where the pulling equipment will be set up.  The pulling equipment pulls a chain with a series of cones to break the existing pipe with up to 40 tons of force.  The new pipe is typically High Density Polyethylene.  This process allows the same size pipe to be installed and in some cases the pipe can be upsized with this equipment.  After the new pipe is pulled through both ends of the pipe will be connected to the existing pipe and the line will be back in service.   At Gardner Plumbing LLC, our trenchless approach offers a multitude of benefits that elevate your plumbing experience:
